The leader of team 11 Masam, Engineer Saleh Tareeq, confirmed that his team has been able to clear and destroy 20 thousand mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Marib and Al Jawf governorates.
In an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office he said that his teams was able since it started its mission in the project in the middle of 2018 to secure and clear 16 fields and mined areas that included agricultural and residential areas in addition to some major and minor roads.
He noted that the Houthis have planted tens of thousands of mines and explosive devices, excessively and at random in 80% of the lands in Marib governorate, and that thanks to the efforts made by Masam’s teams during over two years, Marib became secured from the danger of mines in a quasi total way.
He added that most of the areas that his team was able to secure in Al Jufaynah, Dhat Arra’ and other regions, has become now residential areas that include tens of camps crowded with thousands of displaced people who were forced to leave their lands and homes by the Houthi militias.
Saleh Tareeq, who comes from Marib, sent a message of thanks and gratitude on his behalf and on behalf of Marib’s inhabitants to project Masam’s management team for the huge efforts they make to save Yemen and its people from the death planted by the Houthi militias underground in a form of mines and explosive devices.
Tareeq noted that project Masam is a project of life for land and men, and that it has been able in two years to bring back life to normal in so many Yemeni regions and has enabled the citizens to go back safely to their areas, thanks to the well trained engineering teams of “Masam” who are provided with the most advanced technologies in the field of mine detection.
