Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 2,967 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in November 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 618 landmines and UXO last week, including one anti-personnel landmine, 23 anti-tank mines, and 594 UXO during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 November and 22 November to 2,967.
According to the statement, the demining teams removed 35 anti-personnel mines, 214 anti-tank mines, 2,715 UXO and three IEDs in November.
The project’s demining teams cleared 276,790 square metres of Yemeni land last week, according to the statement, bringing the total cleared so far this month to 940,792.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 62,389,146 square metres of Yemeni land.
