Project Masam’s Operations Room announced that the project’s teams cleared during the last week of July 1327 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices, which brings the total number of what was cleared since the 30th of June until the 31st of July to 5906.
The Operations Manager in project Masam Mr Retief Horn said that the clearing teams cleared during last week 1229 unexploded ordnance and one explosive device.
Mr Retief added that the teams cleared also during last week 96 anti-tank landmines and one anti-personnel landmine.
For his part, the Managing Director of project Masam Mr Ousama Algosaibi said in a statement published by Masam’s media office that the total of what Masam’s teams cleared since the launch of the project until the 24th of July reached 177637 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
Mr Algosaibi added in his statement that the teams were able during last week to clear 141443 square meters of lands, which brings the total of what was cleared since the 26th of June until the 31st of July to 1.395.569 square meters.
And in conclusion, Masam’s teams cleared 12.694.128 square meters of Yemeni lands that were mined with landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
During last week, Masam’s teams carried out an operation to destroy and demolish 16180 landmines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Marib.
