Less than 12 hours after the appeal made by civilians through the media center of Ad Dali fighting axis, and in the context of the Rapid Response of both Masam and the National Mine Action Committee, Major General Qaid Haytham, the Executive Director of the Mines Action Center in Aden paid a visit with a team of landmine clearers, to the areas afflicted by landmines that were drifted by rain torrents on the banks of Tubn Hajar Ad Dali valley.
General Qaid Haytham indicated that the visit comes in the context of the emergency appeal made by the inhabitants of these regions, as they found different types of landmines that were drifted by the torrents to their farms and roads in Tubn valley, after they were planted by the Houthi militias in conflict areas in northern Ad Dali.
General Qaid added that project Masam and the National Mine Action Center responded to this appeal immediately because of the dangers threatening civilians, and they gave direct orders to their clearing teams to go there promptly and start surveying all the afflicted areas along the valley, from the region of Hajar Dhu Ruayn Ad Dali to Lahij province, and that work will start directly after Eid Al Adha.
General Qaid called upon all those who live on the banks of the valley to be careful and cautious in their movements and works in the valley, and not to approach any suspicious or strange bodies along the valley, and to report them immediately the authorities for the threat they pose to civilians.
For his part, the Spokesman of Ad Dali axis fronts Fuad Jabari thanked the clearing teams of Masam and the National Committee, by saying in a statement: “This Rapid Response shows the concern of Masam and the National Committee for civilians’ safety. The teams face a huge task in surveying all the regions along Tubn Valley from Ad Dali to Lahij, and this is like an impossible mission, but we are confident that the clearing teams will fulfill their duty completely, and will overcome the difficulties of the road and long distance and the hardship of surveying in the middle of the farms, jungles, and the torrents that are running continuously”.
The civilians also thanked and appreciated the response, and saw hope and good in the coming of the clearing teams to their regions. They said: “The landmines terrorized us and forbade us from working in our farms and limited our movements. But with the arrival of these teams, we hope to return to our normal lives, and we are ready to help the teams to succeed in their mission”.
The visiting team included Colonel Ahmad Al Radfani, the leader of team 18 Masam working in Ad Dali province, Colonel Engineer Muthanna Saleh Issa, and members of the clearing teams of Masam and the National Committee. The visitors were received by Colonel Saif Mohyi Addin, the leader of the team working in north western Hajar region, and the spokesman of Ad Dali axis fronts Fuad Qaid Jabari, and a huge crowd of civilians.
