Team 9, Masam, destroyed and detonated more than 1,300 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Mara area, Ataq Directorate in Shabwah Givernorate.
In a special statement to Masam Media Office, Engineer Montazer Muhammad Rajeh Al-Radfani, Deputy Director of the National Mine Action Program, confirmed that the engineering teams in Shabwah Governorate are continuing their diligent and humanitarian work at a high rate and making great efforts to clear the areas and directorates of Shabwah from mines and war remnants that threaten citizen’s lives and impede their movement.
Al-Radfani said that the ninth engineering team, Masam, carried out an operation to destroy more than 1,300 war remnants including mines, missiles, fuses, and unexploded foreign bodies that were threatening farmers and citizens lives and disrupting people and livestock in the area.
Al-Radfani said that this is the third destruction operation carried out by the Masam engineering teams in Ataq Directorate, indicating that the engineering teams will continue their work until all areas are cleared from the death lying in wait for innocent lives.
Montazer Al-Radfani called on citizens to cooperate with the engineering teams and to report any foreign objects left from war remnants and to stay away from them.
