A human rights committee in Al-Jawf Governorate condemned the Houthis’ cultivation of mines on public roads, which claimed the lives of four civilians, according to a report received recently.

In a statement issued today by the Governorate’s Human Rights and Media Committee, it denounced the militias ’continued cultivation of thousands of mines indiscriminately along with transforming many civilian areas in Al-Jawf into“ certain death fields threatening the lives and safety of citizens. ”

Human Rights Committee said that it had received reports that 4 civilians, including a woman, were injured, and three civilian cars were destroyed by the explosion of three different mines in Khub Wa-Sha’af Directorate on a road linking Al-Jawf with the neighboring Ma’arib Governorate.

The committee called on all concerned local and international organizations to work to bring all violators to international justice, and to pressure the Houthis to expedite the removal of mines and clear civilian areas, as well as compensating victims and providing them with the necessary aid.
