Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 2,548 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in April 2025.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,050 landmines and UXO last week, including three anti-personnel mine, 24 anti-tank mines, 1,020 UXO, and three IEDs during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 April and 11 April to 2,548.
The project’s demining teams cleared 221,234 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 414,982 square metres so far in April.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 66,303,656 square metres of Yemeni land.
