5 members of the Joint Forces were wounded, and 2 kids survived miraculously, in an explosion of a Houthi landmine at a truck that was transporting water, during the distribution of water and food aid on the needy and the displaced in southern Al Hudaydah, western Yemen.
The Joint Forces’ military media indicated that a truck transporting water was on its way to deliver water and food to the needy and displaced families in Rayhana village of Al Qadaba region, in the south of Al Durayhimi directorate’s center, when a Houthi landmine remnant exploded at the truck, which led to the wounding of 5, including 2 who are in a serious condition.
In the same context, some inhabitants of the village said that they, like the rest of the other villagers were waiting for the truck which supports them with water, and were surprised by the explosion, confirming that sorrow overcame all the families. They indicated that a displaced boy and girl were racing to get to the truck, and that they survived the explosion miraculously.
They reiterated that the Houthi minefields which killed many of them in the past are still a threat to their lives and hamper their agricultural activities.
In the same context, a source in the Joint Forces confirmed that clearing teams went to make a full survey of the region to protect civilians, adding that the landmines of the criminal Houthi militias won’t stop the delivery of water and food to the displaced.
The Houthi landmines are a nightmare that haunts civilians in the western coast, as many of them fall on a daily basis victims to them, despite the successes achieved by the clearing teams in dismantling and clearing the minefields in the region and also the entire liberated regions.
