The Managing Director of the Information Office in Al Bayda’ province, Arif al-Omari reported that the Houthi militias planted thousands of landmines in Al Bayda’ province in various forms and types, and they sophisticated in camouflaging and hiding them.
Al-Omari said that the engineering teams of the army forces were able to remove 360 landmines and explosive devices from (Tabbat al Shaheed, Tabbat al Amn and Tabbat al Sulali) in Qanya area.
Al-Omari pointed out that the landmines will not be an obstacle to the progress of the national army forces in al Bayda’ and that the army forces have sufficient expertise and equipment to dismantle those landmines.
He explained that the biggest problem of these landmines is that the militias planted in the road corridors and farms and sheep herding areas, which in itself constitutes a serious danger to civilians in al Bayda’ province.
