The pro-Iranian Houthi coup militias have been very resourceful during the past six years in producing and camouflaging the landmines and explosive devices, to make them invisible in order to kill thousands of civilians.
The latest report published by “Human Rights Watch”, indicated that the organization found evidence which prove that the rebel Houthi militias, in addition to planting anti-personnel landmines, planted anti-tank landmines in populated areas, anti-vehicle landmines that were modified to explode when one person step on them and hand-made explosive devices camouflaged in the shape of rocks or parts of tree trunks.
In the same context, project Masam for Mine Clearance in Yemen (The Saudi project that started its mission to clear landmines in Yemen in the middle of 2018, and which is funded by King Salam Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre) announced that it was able since the launch of the project to clear 13.868.757 square meters of Yemeni lands, which were mined with landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices, and that it cleared no less than 183581 landmines and explosive devices from these lands.
