The Leader of Team 23, Masam, Engineer Abdullah Ibrahim confirmed that his team managed to clear 2,151 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Mawza’a directorate in Taiz governorate.
Engineer Abdullah Ibrahim told Masam Media Office that the mines that his team removed were planted in the main and secondary roads in the Jahiliya region and the surrounding areas in the Mawza directorate, which were a major obstacle to the movement of citizens.
The Leader of Team 23 Masam indicated that the total area that his team was able to secure amounts to 293,166 square meters, which are road corridors, agricultural areas and residential areas.
This came during the visits of Masam experts in Aden and the western coast headed by the international expert, Dr. Zowbaa Al-Rawi, to the work area that Team 23 Masam is currently working on securing.
During the visit, Dr. Zawbaa Al-Rawi stressed the importance of adherence to safety standards by the engineering teams, confirming that safety is the most important element in the field of mine clearance, followed by achievement and quality of work.
