The leader of Project Masam’s Team 12, which works in the Al-Safra area of Osilan district in Shabwah governorate, has announced his team successfully cleared three minefields, effectively clearing a total area of 40,000 sqm.

Explaining that recent successes could be explained by his team’s “high morale” and determination to rid Al-Safra of landmines, the team leader also stressed that the cooperation of civilians with Project Masam has lead to better reporting of landmines and deeper awareness of the dangers of mines.

This also highlights civilians’ commitment to adhering and respecting the project’s warning signs and guidelines – which constitute an extra layer of protection against landmines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and unexploded ordnance (UXO).
