Project Masam has participated in the open photo exhibition in Marib Governorate, with the aim of highlighting the issue of widespread plantation of landmines by Houthi militias across Yemen.
The exhibition, which was organised by the Capital Media Center, included 400 photographs highlighting examples of the violations and crimes that affect civilians in the country.
Project Masam’s photo exhibition, which is part of Sana’a Winter Exhibition, welcomed a large number of school students, who were encouraged to learn more about landmines and their impact on society – including children.
Project Masam displayed dozens of photographs, some of which showed survivors of landmine explosions, in addition to other photos showing the different types of mines as well as awareness-raising pamphlets on ways to avoid them.
This activity is part of Project Masam’s emphasis on Mine Risk Education, which strives to achieve behaviour change to mitigate the risk of explosive devices through creating awareness and education about the risks of landmines and other explosive items as well as safe behaviour.
