Project Masam demining teams in Osilan district in Yemen’s Shabwah governorate have succeeded in securing a main road in the Al-Hima area.

In a statement, Engineer Muntather Al-Radfani, Deputy Director of the Executive Center for Mine Action in Marib, confirmed that Project Masam’s Team 4 successfully secured the road in the Al-Hima area, with the aim of enabling the local authority in Osilan district to carry out the restoration process of the road and implement a project to pave and construct rain drainage channels.

Al-Radfani added that Team 4 succeeded in overcoming the challenges and securing the road successfully, which enabled the local authority to start the process of restoring the road and safely implement its development project.

Hussein Ahmed Saleh, an engineer overseeing the restoration and paving of the Al-Hima Road, said Project Masam’s engineering teams immediately responded to the call of the local authorities to demine the road.

“This underscores the importance of securing roads for the local population and ensuring their safety and protection from any danger that may result from mines spread in the area,” Saleh said.

Saleh stressed that work on the project began immediately after the completion of the road securing process, and will contribute to improving the lives of local residents by providing a safe and elaborately paved road.
