Project Masam removes 3,360 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 3,360 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in September 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams managed to remove 31 anti-personnel mines, 373 anti-tank mines, 2,946 UXO and 10 IEDs since the beginning of the month.

The project’s demining teams cleared 816,077 square metres of Yemeni territory in September.

Last week, the project’s demining teams cleared nine anti-personnel landmines, 115 anti-tank mines, 618 UXO and one IED.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 50,132,331 square metres of Yemeni land.
