Project Masam removes 2,815 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 625 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) last week, bringing the total number of explosives that have been removed from between 1 and 28 July to 2,815.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that last week the teams removed 456 UXO, 22 anti-personnel mines and 148 anti-tank mines.

According to the same statement, the project’s deminers have removed 2,337 UXO, 25 anti-personnel mines, and 441 anti-tank mines between 1 and 28 July.

During the third week of July, Project Masam teams cleared 235,615 sqm of Yemeni territory, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the month to 748,277 sqm.
