Project Masam removes 2,206 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 2,206 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in October 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams managed to clear 20 anti-personnel mines, 327 anti-tank mines, 2,856 UXO and three IEDs since the beginning of the month.

The project’s demining teams cleared 558,993 square metres of Yemeni territory in October.

Last week, the project’s demining teams cleared 13 anti-personnel landmines, 109 anti-tank mines, and 608 UXO.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 50,691,324 square metres of Yemeni land.
