Project Masam removes 2,190 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 856 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) last week, bringing the total number of explosives that have been removed from between 1 and 21 July to 2,190.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that last week the teams removed 780 UXO and 71 anti-tank mines.

According to the same statement, the project’s deminers have removed 1,881 UXO and 295 anti-tank mines between 1 and 21 July.

During the second week of July, Project Masam teams cleared 244,436 sqm of Yemeni territory, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the month to 512,662 sqm.
