Masam destroys 2,500 landmines, unexploded ordnances and IEDs in Yemen’s Marib

Project Masam teams operating in Yemen’s Marib governorate have destroyed 2,500 landmines, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the Al-Wady district.

Engineer Muntather Al-Radfani, Deputy Director of the National Mine Action Program at the Marib office, confirmed that Project Masam demining teams working in the vicinity of Marib carried out today the destruction and detonation operations of 2,500 explosive threats.

Al-Radfani said the landmines and ordnance were cleared by Project Masam teams in recent days.

He also affirmed that the demolition operation was carried out according to international standards and that Project Masam teams are working to remove mines and UXO from several Yemeni provinces, with the aim of ensuring the safety of civilians and bringing life back to normal.
