Project Masam removes 1,751 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,751 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in September 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that last week the teams managed to remove 12 anti-personnel mines, 133 anti-tank mines, 1,600 UXO and six IEDs since the beginning of the month.

The project’s demining teams cleared 467,887 square metres of Yemeni territory in September.

Last week, the project’s demining teams cleared five anti-personnel landmines, 49 anti-tank mines, 913 UXO and one IED.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 49,567,919 square metres of Yemeni land.
