On 20 February, Project Masam is remembering five colleagues killed in the line of duty four years ago.
Project Masam mourns the loss of the team of five demining specialists, who lost their lives while attempting to bring safety and security to the Yemeni people on 20 February 2019 in the central province of Marib.
On this day, Project Masam and the rest of the international community commemorates their hope, enthusiasm and their dedication to achieve a “Landmine Free Yemen”.
The Project Masam family and the Yemeni people mourn their accidental death and have voiced their appreciation for the great sacrifices made by the experts as they strived to achieve their humanitarian mission in Yemen.
On this occasion, Project Masam Managing Director Ousama Algosaibi, said: “On the death anniversary of five Masam brothers, today we pay a tribute to them and all the colleagues killed in the line of duty, who made the biggest sacrifice. We confirm our determination to go on with our mission, making every effort to rid Yemen of landmines.
“We would also like to confirm that nothing will ever stand in the way of Masam’s work and duty in Yemen. Masam stands firm on liberating Yemen from all types of mines.”
Their sacrifices are lessons of sincere giving and dedication, Algosaibi said, adding that their deaths have driven and continue to drive the Project Masam family to save the lives of innocent civilians.
