Adel Ghanem, chief of operations of the 17th Southern Giants Brigades in Yemen’s Bab al-Mandeb, has said that Project Masam was fast to intervene after the discovery of landmines and explosive devices in the area.
One of Project Masam’s teams working in Bab al-Mandeb and the West Coast immediately responded to the report and dispatched to the heavily-mined area to deal with the explosive threats.
Ghanem affirmed that those landmines represent a great danger to livestock as well as civilians, and have killed and injured many. They also led to countless losses of sheep and camels, he claimed.

Ghanem indicated that this emergency operation led to the removal of 990 mines and unexploded ordnance, which were destroyed by Masam teams.
