Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 808 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in December 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 808 landmines and UXO last week, including four anti-personnel landmines, 65 anti-tank mines, 731 UXO, and eight IEDs during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 November and 6 December to 808.
According to the statement, the demining teams removed 35 anti-personnel mines, 214 anti-tank mines, 2,715 UXO and three IEDs in November.
The project’s demining teams cleared 204,459 square metres of Yemeni land last week.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 62,593,605 square metres of Yemeni land.
