Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 543 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in April 2025.
While many Project Masam teams were on annual leave during Ramadan and Eid, reserve and emergency teams continued operations. The demining teams will return to work on 7 April.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 543 landmines and UXO last week, including six anti-personnel mines, 23 anti-tank mines, 511 UXO, and three IEDs during the period.
The project’s demining teams cleared 7,500 square metres of Yemeni land last week.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 65,896,174 square metres of Yemeni land.
