Project Masam clears 4,230 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 4,230 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in July 2024.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 1,390 landmines and UXO last week, including five anti-personnel landmines, 47 anti-tank mines, 1,337 UXO and one IED.

The project’s demining teams cleared 217,107 square metres of Yemeni land last week, bring ing up the total cleared over the month to 831,729 square metres, according to the statement.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 58,275,262 square meters of Yemeni land.
