Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 4,207 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in May 2025.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,095 landmines and UXO last week, including seven anti-personnel mines, 32 anti-tank mines, and 1,056 UXO during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 May and 16 May to 4,207.
The project’s demining teams cleared 219,861 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 575,299 square metres so far in May.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 66,860,348 square metres of Yemeni land.
