Project Masam clears 4,036 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 4,036 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in April 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,488 landmines and UXO last week, including three anti-personnel mine, 46 anti-tank mines, 1,437 UXO, and two IEDs during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 April and 25 April to 4,036.

The project’s demining teams cleared 201,254 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 201,254 square metres so far in April.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 66,303,656 square metres of Yemeni land.
