Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 3,362 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in January 2025.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 840 landmines and UXO last week, including 38 anti-tank mines, 800 UXO, and two IEDs during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 January and 24 January to 3,368.
The project’s demining teams cleared 272,556 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 1,032,421 square metres so far in January.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 64,411,092 square metres of Yemeni land.
