Project Masam clears 2,817 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 2,817 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in February 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 861 landmines and UXO last week, including 13 anti-personnel mines, 24 anti-tank mines, 668 UXO, and one IED during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 February and 28 February to 2,817.

The project’s demining teams cleared 233,742 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 971,080 square metres so far in February.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 65,662,717 square metres of Yemeni land.
