Project Masam clears 2,345 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 2,345 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in November 2023.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams last week removed and cleared 873 items including 113 anti-tank mines and 755 UXO, bringing the total removed this month to 2,345.

Since the beginning of the month, Project Masam’s deminers cleared 1,976 UXO and 342 anti-tank mines.

The project’s demining teams cleared 248,593 square metres of Yemeni territory last week, bringing the total land cleared so far in November to 645,779.

Since the launch of the project in mid-June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 51,533,391 square metres of Yemeni land.
