Project Masam clears 2,158 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 2,158 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in March 2025.

While many Project Masam teams were on annual leave during Ramadan, reserve and emergency teams continued operations.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 552 landmines and UXO last week, including 35 anti-tank mines, 513 UXO, and four IEDs during the period.
This brings the total number of items removed between 1 March and 21 March to 2,158.
The project’s demining teams cleared 4,750 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 217,657 square metres so far in March.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 65,880,374 square metres of Yemeni land.
