Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 1,579 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in October 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the demining teams removed 1,579 landmines and UXO last week, including five anti-personnel landmines, 126 anti-tank mines, 1,442 UXO and six IEDs during the period.
The project’s demining teams cleared 240,575 square metres of Yemeni land last week, according to the statement.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 60,508,926 square metres of Yemeni land.
