Project Masam clears 1,498 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 1,498 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in April 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 955 landmines and UXO last week, including one anti-personnel mine, 24 anti-tank mines, 913 UXO, and 17 IEDs during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 April and 11 April to 1,498.

The project’s demining teams cleared 186,248 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 193,748 square metres so far in April.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 66,082,422 square metres of Yemeni land.
