Project Masam clears 1,250 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 1,250 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in February 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 536 landmines and UXO last week, including nine anti-personnel mines, 48 anti-tank mines, 478 UXO, and one IED during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 February and 14 February to 1,250.

The project’s demining teams cleared 246,385 square metres of Yemeni land last week; clearing a total of 477,140 square metres so far in February.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 65,168,777 square metres of Yemeni land.
