Project Masam clears 1,151 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 1,151 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in January 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,151 landmines and UXO last week, including 32 anti-tank mines, 1,115 UXO, and four IEDs during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 January and 3 January 2025 to 1,151.

The project’s demining teams cleared 299,442 square metres of Yemeni land last week.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 63,678,113 square metres of Yemeni land.
