Engineer Nasser Awad al-Sayed, Leader of Masam’s Team 6, said that his team has been working since September 10 in the Shaq Al-Tayyar area, where 35,000 square meters of land have been demined.
The team leader also indicated that 20 anti-personnel mines have been removed so far from the Shaq al-Tayyar area, a desert area linking Usaylan district to Harib district and is vital for sheep grazing.
Al-Sayed indicated that his team has been working in the West Coast region for several months, during which a large number of landmines were cleared.
This clearance work is dangerous, intricate and requires high professionalism, vigilance, and patience, Al-Sayed said.
The engineer said that Project Masam is determined to win this battle in Yemen, despite the challenges; the achievements of the demining teams on the ground have so far shown Masam’s determination to succeed and achieve a total clearance of Yemeni lands.
Al-Sayed stated that Masam is striving to protect the lives of Yemenis against mines and to help them regain access to their homes, lands, villages, regions, and mine-free homeland.
