Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 836 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bringing the total cleared since the beginning of the month to 2,223.
Masam Operations said in a statement that the project teams removed 614 UXOs and four IEDs along with 217 anti-tank mines this past week alone.
The demining teams succeeded in clearing 45,367,536 square meters of land since the beginning of the project in mid-2018.
