Masam removes 2,512 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 605 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

In its statement, Project Masam confirmed the demining teams removed 15 anti-personnel mines, 160 anti-tank mines, 420 UXO and 10 IEDs this week alone.

Since the beginning of the month, management also said that the project teams removed 2,512 UXO, 13 improvised explosive devices, 561 anti-tank mines and 24 anti-personnel landmines, bringing the total cleared so far in March to 2,512.

So far this month, Project Masam succeeded in clearing 516,858sqm of the Yemen liberated land, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the project in mid-2018 to 45,367,536sqm.
