Masam removes 1,387 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices

Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams have removed 1,387 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices last week, bringing the total number of explosives removed in February to 5,290.

In its statement, Project Masam said that the project teams have removed 1,087 unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 49 improvised explosive device (IED) since the beginning of the month. Management added that the project teams removed this week during the same period 233 anti-tank and 18 anti-personnel mines.

Last week (4 February – 10 February), the Masam teams succeeded in clearing 277,794sqm of the Yemen liberated land, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the project in mid-2018 to 44,122,922sqm.
