Project Masam’s operations room has announced that last week, the project teams removed 1,085 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bringing the total cleared since the beginning of the month to 3,114.
Masam Operations said in a statement that the project teams removed 901 UXOs and five IEDs along with 20 banned anti-personnel mines and 159 anti-tank mines this past week alone.
The demining teams succeeded in clearing 267,175 square metres this week – with the monthly clearance so far totalling 852,044 square metres.
Masam teams managed to clear 46,219,580 square metres of Yemeni land since the beginning of the project in mid-2018.
