Masam’s project led an operation to destroy and detonate 3398 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Al Makha directorate on the western coast
In an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office, The Managing Director of the project Mr Ousam Algosaibi confirmed that the destruction operation led today by the team which collects projectiles in Al Kadha region is the 14th operation, which brings the total of what has been destroyed in the western coast to 76082 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance so far.
The operation includes the destruction of 365 anti-tank mines, 60 anti-personnel mines, 621 unexploded ordnance, 684 various fuses, 14 booby-trapped rockets, 551 various bombs and 12 explosive devices.
In addition to 1091 ordnance and remnants of war.
The Masam project works on the destruction of mines and different kinds of explosives step by step, in a method that the project has taken to ensure that they will not be used again by any party.
The Masam project was able so far and since its launch in the middle of 2018 to lead 59 operations to destroy and detonate thousands of mines and explosive devices in Yemen.
The Masam project has 16 engineering teams which work in 10 directorates on the western coast, and which are distributed in: “Dhabab, Al Makha, Bab Al Mandab, Ad Durayhimi, Muazza’a, Al Wazi’iya, Al Khokha, Hays, Yakhtal, in addition to Kirsh directorate in Lahij governorate.
