Masam project led 3 operations to destroy and detonate 6896 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Marib and Lahij governorates
In Marib governorate, Masam’s team 18 led two operations to destroy and detonate 6414 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in Sirwah directorate, which brings the total of the destruction operations led by Masam in Marib governorate to 20 operations, in which it destroyed thousands of mines and explosive devices cleared by Masam’s teams in a number of directorates in the governorate during the past period.
And in Kirsh directorate of Lahij governorate, Masam’s team 30 led an operation to destroy and detonate 428 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance, under the direct supervision of Masam’s experts, which brings the total of the destruction operations led by Masam’s teams in the western coast to 16 operations.
And in an exclusive interview with Masam’s media office, the Director of the Yemeni National Mine Action Program Amin Al-Aqili confirmed that Masam project continues with a high speed the operations of clearing and destroying mines, reiterating that the continuity of Masam project mission in Yemen, makes the possibility of achieving a mine-free Yemen very high, despite all the challenges and obstacles.
In his part, Masam’s international expert Dr “Zawba’ Al Rawi” confirmed that the mines and military pollutants which were destroyed in Lahij governorate were cleared by Masam’s team 18 from the citizens’ farms in Kirsh directorate.
Dr Zawba’ Al Rawi said in an exclusive interview that “Masam” is like water to the agricultural lands, because without clearing the mines left by the Houthis, the citizens’ farms will be subject to desertification which will have a very negative impact on the lives of farmers and their sources of living.
