Project Masam mobilized its teams to continue the clearance of Dhabab and Bab Al Mandab regions. The operation included “residential areas, agricultural areas, coasts and fishermen harbors”.
To clear completely these areas, the project brought the clearing teams there devices for the detection of landmines that are buried deep underground, in order to facilitate the clearing operations and insure that the lands are free of landmines.
Masam’s experts paid a field visit to teams 19 and 23 which have been working in Aden province and the western coast for 2 years. The experts provided a field training to guarantee the effectiveness of using these high tech devices, then Masam’s experts gave the clearing teams 2 Large Loop devices for the detection of landmines that are planted deep underground.
According to the experts the Large Loop device will help the clearing teams to survey all the mined areas that teams 19 and 23 have worked to clear in a record time and will enable them to uncover the remaining of landmines that were buried deep underground.
