Project Masam to clear Yemeni lands of mines seeks to expand the work map of its engineering teams to include new regions and governorates to achieve the general goal that Project Masam came for which is Yemen free of mines.
In this context, Masam experts in Aden and the western coast carried out an inspection visit to Al-Alam region, east of Aden Governorate, to survey the area and determine suspected areas contaminated with unexploded ordnance and explosive devices threatening the security and safety of civilians, especially herders and farmers, and then distributing the contaminated area to areas and fields for clearance.
This noble and humanitarian work has been assigned to Team 30 to begin examining, marking and treating these pollutants to secure them from the danger of unexploded ordnance left by previous wars.
During the visit, the international expert, Dr. Zobaa Al-Rawi, confirmed that the project management decided to assign Team 30 Masam to survey the area and identify high-impact areas, which are the vital areas most contaminated with unexploded ordnance and devices that pose a threat to civilians lives.
The team of Masam experts was accompanied on their visit to the Al-Alam area, Colonel Qaid Haitham, the executive director of mine action in Aden, as well as the commander of Al-Alam Colonel Naji Al-Yahri.
