Masam destroys 1,118 landmines and explosive devices in Bab al-Mandab

Project Masam has destroyed and detonated 1,118 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices in the Bab al-Mandab district in the Yemeni governorate of Taiz.

In a statement, Engineer Adib Rajab, the deputy leader of the Masam Special Task Team in Aden and the West Coast Sector, said that the destruction process which was carried out on December 28 included 409 anti-tank mines, 87 unexploded ordnance, 420 miscellaneous fuses, 182 miscellaneous bullets, and 20 anti-personnel mines.

Rajab said that the number of explosives that were destroyed is the result of what the Masam teams have removed from the districts of Mawza, Al-Makha, Al-Khawkha, Al Wazi’iyah, and Hays in the past weeks.
