Masam clears 2,407 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices

Project Masam’s management team has announced that the project’s demining teams have removed 1,408 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO) and explosive devices (IEDs) last week, bringing the total cleared since the beginning of December to 2,407.
In a statement, Project Masam stated that since the beginning of the month, the project teams have removed 2,141 UXO and 238 anti-tank mines.
Masam’s operations room added that during the second week of December, the project teams removed 1,259 UXO and four IEDs.
The statement said that Masam’s demining teams removed 130 anti-tank mines and 16 anti-personnel mines during the same period.
During the past week, Masam teams cleared 221,849sqm of liberated land in Yemen, bringing the total area cleared since the beginning of the month to 564,086 square meters.
