Project Masam’s Operation Room announced that the project’s teams cleared during the first week of July 1014 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices, which brings the total of what was cleared since the 30th of June until the 9th of July to 2106.
The Operations Manager in project Masam Mr Retief Horn said that the clearing teams cleared during last week 686 unexploded ordnance.
Mr Retief added that the teams cleared also during last week 266 anti-tank landmines and 62 anti-personnel landmines.
For his part, the Managing Director of project Masam Mr Ousama Algosaibi said in a statement published by Masam’s media office that the total of what Masam’s teams cleared since the launch of the project until the 9th of July reached 173837 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
Mr Algosaibi added in his statement that the teams were able during last week to clear 311480 square meters of lands, thus bringing the total size of lands cleared by the project since the 30th of June until the 9th of July to 598374 square meters.
And with these latest numbers, project Masam’s teams cleared since the launch of the project until the 9th of July 11896933 square meters of Yemeni lands that were booby trapped with landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
During last week, team 30 Masam (specialized in collection and demolition) carried out an operation to destroy and demolish 866 landmines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices in Bab Al Mandab.
