Project Masam clears 1,058 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices

Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have cleared 1,058 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in March 2025.

Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams cleared 1,058 landmines and UXO last week, including 24 anti-tank mines, and 1,034 UXO during the period.

This brings the total number of items removed between 1 March and 7 March to 1,058.

The project’s demining teams cleared 197,407 square metres of Yemeni land last week.

Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 65,860,124 square metres of Yemeni land.
