Project Masam has announced that its demining teams have removed 4,210 landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) so far in June 2024.
Project Masam’s Operations Room said in a statement that the teams removed 755 landmines and UXO last week, including 47 anti-tank mines, 707 UXO and one IED, bringing the total of anti-personnel mines, anti-tank mines, UXO and IEDs cleared so far this month to one, 163, 4,035 and 11, respectively.
The project’s demining teams cleared 139,024 square metres of Yemeni land last week, according to the statement.
Since the start of the project at the end of June 2018, Project Masam teams have cleared 47,443,533 square meters of Yemeni land.
