United Nations said: “The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is beyond description.” And it really is. As this situation is not new for Yemen since the terrorist Houthi militia coup came to the scene in 2014, that catastrophe has become a reality, when no one can imagine the amount of criminality and brutality that inhabits this group members.
Al-Houthi, at the beginning of their coup, raised the slogan of fighting terrorism. But how can those who committed terrorism and are allied with terrorists to fight terrorism? .
The terrorism that Al-Houthi talked about before the coup was just a rare activity that people rarely hear about, but with the arrival of this faction, terrorism became general and comprehensive, manifesting itself especially in death traps.
Planting of mines is considered the most dangerous to civilians lives, as they are lurking traps, waiting for their prey maliciously, as ‘Doctors Without Borders’ explained that people in Yemen are besieged by mines. Their main victims, who were affected by this deadly dangerous plague planted by the militias, were none other than civilians, those who have been killed and lost limbs or deformities that will remain with them for life and whose consequences will follow them.
According to reports issued by several organizations, the tragedy of mines distributed by hateful hands was not limited to killing and maiming, they double punished the Yemenis by depriving residents of their livelihood after forcibly abandoning their agricultural fields, as well as their homes that were booby-trapped along with the roads leading to them, to escape the horror of this hell they were thrown in to.
After their farms and valleys were the source of their livelihood, they turned into death fields that snatch their lives and harvest their heads. Mines have claimed the lives of many, including livestock.
The Houthis have been keen since the beginning of their ongoing coup for more than six years to plant the areas they lose to government forces with mines and explosive devices. These militias pursued a humiliation policy against Yemenis with the aim of revenge and also to use them as means of pressure to gain concessions.
The state that the Yemenis have reached can no longer tolerate further silence and blindness to the atrocities committed by this criminal group against innocent and defenseless people.
Contaminating their land with mines and besieging them with it is a crime against land and people. It is a disaster that will continue for years as a result of the huge amount planted by the Houthi group and still doing it until now.
There is no doubt that these militias carry a terrorist ideology that is deeply rooted in brutality and similar to that of their allies, whose goal is to make Yemen a scene of their criminal and inhuman acts that have caused a lot of damage to Yemen.
As a result of this tragic situation, some parties moved to extend a helping hand to Yemen. However, Project Masam remains the most important of all, given its pioneering and effective role in clearing Yemeni lands of hate mines through modern plans and programs.
During the second week of December, Masam engineering teams cleared 1,346 mines, unexploded ammunition, and explosive devices, and cleared 340,611 square meters of Yemeni lands, bringing the total of what had been cleared from last November 28th to December 18th to 4468.
What was presented and will be presented by Masam is evidence of expertise and high qualifications the project abounds, which were all recruited to serve a humanitarian goal that seeks to eradicate mines that lurks people’s lives and aim to kill innocent souls.
